Anoles...

Well, it's been an interesting morning cleaning our den. Hardly ever in there, but apparently it has become sacred ground ....with their last breath, the two rather crenated, very deceased little anoles I found, decided this was to be their final resting place ... and a sock from one of the grandchildren also made the same decision. (Bet you didn't know if one sock goes lost, the mate withers away....). All sorts of interesting things under sofas and on windowsills.

If they somehow manage to get into the house, they don't usually get to leave. Once the critters die, they sort of just shrivel up....no 'aroma' so don't worry about that any of you who are new to living with these wee beasties. Still looking for the big one that I came face to face with last week in my dining room....he took off at lightning speed and has yet to be found....;)

Our dog loves to chase the little critters outside.

Dead anoles in the house do attract ants, as I found out trying to find the source of a sudden ant invasion. Once I removed the corpse the ants disappeared.

Well, just found the missing one....deceased in the guest bedroom on the windowsill almost under the bottom of the window blind.

So far, no ants, at least not where the deceased were...;)

Get the tiny ones in lanai that squeeze under door jam...find them dead and all dried up under furniture when I sweep. I feel so bad [emoji25]

What I want to know, is WHY don't these little guys smell when they croak?

My cat catches the little darlings and brings them to me. I then take it back outside and let it go. I think that I am starting to recognize some of them on the second time around!

I walk the dog in the landscaping stones so he won't kill the grass. Amazing how many of these little guys are scurrying about in there, but he ignores them all. They are so cute, and we've only found one dead one, on our lanai, but made me sad.:cryin2:

Can we have a moment of silence for the newly passed.
