Daily Sun New Mobile App
 

Yesterday I stumbled upon a new mobile app for the The Villages Daily Sun. Over time I stopped checking the Daily Sun web site because there was so little available. However, this may be the beginning of online access to the Daily Sun. I'm using their new mobile app on an iPad but I don't see why you couldn't use it on a PC. If you go to their regular web site, there's a pop up announcement.

The new Mobile App has been there for a few weeks now...

One of the many features of the app is being able to watch the Channel 2 videos from each day. I don't have Comcast, so I was not able to ever watch these videos, until now.

This app is a huge improvement over the previous Villages App.

If you go to the Town Squares section of the app you'll see that there is a sidewalk sale going from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am at LSL. Maybe it's an early Christmas event as the season has evidently started with store decorations already.

They needed to improve the online content.

The sound from the Channel 2 videos stopped working on my IPad. I removed and reinstalled the app but it didn't fix the problem. Since the sound on other apps is working I have to believe it's a problem with the Daily Sun Mobile app. Anyone else with similar experience?

I just watched the Sept. 8 & 9 News Shows on my Android phone - no problem. Last week I watched News Shows on my Android tablet and they played fine.

They do not appear to be supporting breaking news. I would expect lightning strikes, fires, severe weather, and police incidents to be posted, just my thoughts.
