Patio Door Rollers
 

My house is 10 years old, & I am in need of new rollers installed on my patio door. Can anyone recommend someone who does this & the approximate cost? TKS!

Have you tried WD-40 first...maybe just sticky?

Definitely the rollers......had to adjust the lock mechanism on the door so that it will lock.

I have replaced roller unit before. Usually ACE hardware, lowes, or home depot may have the units that fits your sliding doors. It it was me I would first try to adjust them. The roller unit at the bottom usually has screw adjustment at the ends. To elevate the roller off the track. Over time it can weaking and collape and maybe height adjustment will work along with track cleaning.

Replacing roller unit assembly not that hard. Probably could watch UTube video on how to do it. If you just don't want to fool with it, then replacement and track cleaning should let them roll like new again.

I was wondering about cleaning the tracks. I vacuum them but I was wondering about wiping them out and then applying WD 40, but I just didn't want to do the wrong thing.

IMO You can us wd 40 is will also clean, but won't last too long on the tracks. need to get to the rollers. If dragging it may just need to be adjusted up a little. If it just squeaks then it the rollers that need of lubrication. Some are made of plastic material and will get flat spots over time if not rolling from wear.

Try "Door Ease" first
 

Yes, clean the tracks then apply "Door Ease" lubricant to the track where the rollers touch. It's like a big crayon. It's under a couple of bucks, should be available at any hardware store or Home Depot, etc. Here's a link to show you what it looks like.
