Bob Hope often performed at Eglin AFB and we would go see him. The proceeds went to Bob Hope Village which is an assisted living type village mainly for military widows. Last time he was there he was so very old. I don't think he knew where he was BUT when people started clapping he perked up. He was still a showman.

I've always been a big fan of this man. Loved the Lucille Ball/Bob Hope movies (Fancy Pants and Sorrowful Jones are my two favorites). That he would give up his Christmases every year for the troops was just amazing. Thanks for the reminder!

Bob Hope was a much loved figure in our house. He was my Dad's favorite comedian. He contributions to all our fighting men and women must be sorely missed. No one can take his place. To Bob Hope -- :clap2: Thanks for the Memories.
