My mom needs a gerontologist

Mom is at Freedom Pointe rehab. She has multiple issues. I think she could use the services of a MD who specializes in Gerontology. Anybody have a good one to recommend?

Seems like a person trained in that specialty would find it very advantageous to practice here.

My wife has been seeing Dr. Sara Gitte-Acosta at Lakeview Internal Medicine Laurel Manor office and is extremely happy with her skills and demonstrated concern for seniors and their problems. She might meet your mother's needs. Dr. Sara specializes in Geriatrics and has privileges at both TVRH and LRMC. Tel# 352-633-5282

Dr Winston Evalle is a trained geriatric specialist. We have been seeing him for 9 years and are very happy with his conservative treatments. He does not go for any of this way out traetments and he is not a pill pusher.

I noticed in the newspaper, some time ago, that some of the doctor ads would state that they offer geriatric care. However, someone who has a degree in geriatrics would be called a Geriatrician. So, in my opinion, there could be a big difference between someone offering geriatric care and a genuine Geriatrician.
