No, no, no babette !!!
:cus:Just returned home from shopping at Babbette's Furniture in Leesburg. We are a little upset but mostly disappointed. We will probably never go into Babbette's again. We were shopping for a high quality dining room table and chairs preferably made in America. We walked thru the store no less than 30 minutes and not a single clerk of the dozen or so employees present ever greeted us, said hello or even made eye contact. We tried some do-it-yourself shopping and every dining set than seemed interesting had a bottom of chair label stating the furniture was made in VIETNAM.. If I wanted furniture made in China or Vietnam I could go Rooms To Go and pay a lot less.

Well, our dining room set was made in Viet Nam, and the quality and workmanship is second to none. They have some real craftsmen over there.
The war's over..............get over it.:cus: |

Babetts just delivered my new Lazy Boy Full Leather recliner 2 hours ago. I waited six weeks not the ten weeks they quoted and it is made in the good old USA. I LOVE IT and am sitting in it right now. Power everything including lumbar and headrest. For the most part I don't want a sales person until I browse the store. Thank You Babetts. Sorry for your bad experience Warren. |
I are sure your Lazy Boy was made in the USA or had final assembly here. If I am not mistaken they are made with all Chinese products and assembled here.

For some time the furniture that for a long time was made in the U.S. Southeast coastal states has been outsourced. That includes some very good lines such as Thomasville and Broyhill . That is how things have changed.
Don't blame Babbettes. |

Sorry you had a less than satisfactory visit, Warren. Just last week we received our two chairs, loveseat, two ottomans and two side tables from Babbette's. Chairs and loveseat are Flexsteel, which I do believe is a made in the USA company.
Our sales lady was attentive and listened to our wants. She also let us look without pressuring us. We returned a week after our first visit and she was again helpful without pressure. Furniture arrived little earlier than estimated. Delivery was prompt, delivery people were courteous and careful. Just thought I'd share my experience. |
Only furniture I know of made in the U.S. is Amish.

Warren, I concur. We were in the market to completely furnish our new home and went to Babettes's on two separate trips. Neither time did anyone approach us to help. We felt like we didn't look affluent enough, so we left. We purchased all our furniture from Yolanda at Kane's instead. No, i don't want a salesperson to hover over me, but at least they could acknowledge a prospective buyer. I'm with you on this one.

We bought a Dresser and Kitchen Set from Babette's and only wished we had found them sooner. We were greeted warmly and our salesman was fantastic!! As a matter of fact, when we had a problem with the glass table top on the kitchen table, he personally brought us a new one!!:eclipsee_gold_cup:

My shopping experience is to go into a store and be left alone. If I have any questions, I will go see a sales person. I think most people prefer doing business this way.
American Freight sells furniture made in the USA but I wouldn't recommend them, as they don't know what customer service is. Long story. Go to Kane's in Ocala, for decent furniture. See Paul Chase who is a respectful gentleman. |
