Bright House — Cable and Internet installation – our installation story

We had Bright House cable and internet installed at our house on Friday. It was a very good installation story. I am also very happy with the customer service that Lysander Jimenez provided.

I strongly recommend that if you are going to use Bright House for any combination of cable/internet/phone, that you contact Lysander. He is very patient answering lots of questions along with explaining the different options.

I totally agree. We had a very good experience with Lysander and our installation of Brighthouse.

We can also attest to that. Very good experience. My sister did not have a good experience though. I knew more about the install than the cable guy ( a Village resident) What a pain in the butt he was. Lysander took care of everything and made it right!

We have a new home south of 466A, and were told by our builder during the walk through that if we went with Comcast or Centurylink there was already a wire in the ground that could be used, but if we went with Brighthouse they would have to lay a new line.

Is this true? If so, why would that be the case?

I assume the inside wiring would work with any of the 3 cable companies, or with a satellite system.

Have Brighthouse and yes, they do run a connection.....they slit the sod, don't trench it, then fold it back....less than 10 minutes to do that. No biggie. Installation was great and so far, so is the service. Nice to have choices, for us two choices as COMCAST would never be on my list......especially since the CEO made the statement that it would take years for them to correct the customer service issues.

Comcast customer service is bad. What is the difference in briighthouse product and comcast? And what kind of line are they installing from street? Does the each room with a tv require new wiring? Thanks

I had Brighthouse network, TV, Phone, @ internet, installed a week ago, they were on time for appointment, techniciann was great, good price everything works well. Had one minor problem in that the main box timed out and shut down, quick call to Lysander, and it was resolved So far a great experience.

Vote for Brighthouse

Apparently Brighthouse is doing something right as it has been over one year for my installation by them and I found them back then to be very very good at what they do... I live south of 466 A... I have found their Customer Service just fine in Wildwood...

The Developer/Builders should allow Brighthouse to be part of their wiring package when the new homes go in just like the other Utilities have the privilege of wiring in the same ditch with the others... it would save Brighthouse from making their own small trench..

As they say " What say you?"

I agree, but that is not the situation. However, a post above seems to indicate that laying the cable is not invasive at all. I'm a little sensitive to that because years ago when we built our house the sprinkler system people and the cable people kept hitting each other, so I eventually had the sprinkler guy bury the cable for me.

Anyway, Brighthouse is an interesting option. CenturyLink with Cat-5 is as well. I am having Tom from TheVillagesAV come out in a couple of weeks to try to clear some of this up for me. I know he prefers Comcast but I think he will give me the facts either way. The good news is Comcast has competition in The Villages, which helps when you make the annual call to get your rate back down.

Looking for feedback on TV, Internet, phone providers to make a decision on who to pick. Are you happy with Brighthouse?

I have had them for almost one year and have had great service, with 30 meg download internet and 2 meg upload. No phone for me, and the only downside is when you turn on the tv and TV box, the channel comes up to 13 which is the brighthouse news channel out of Orlando/Tampa.
Also Comcast is the only provider with the villages tv station broadcaster.
