Furniture Stores

I've been to Babbets and Family Furniture. What are some other options? Driving to Orlando or Tampa is not a problem. I need names of stores and do not like Southern Living furniture. We're looking for contemporary/modern.

I bought furniture from Kane's in Ocala on Rte 200.

They give a lifetime warranty.

Try Hudson's they have a store in Ocala and a clearance center in Sanford, might be more traditional than what you want, but you never know.

Furniture stores

I had good luck finding what I was looking for in a couch at Blockers. They are next to Kane's in Ocala,

We bought swivel recliners from Kents in Belleview and they couldn't have been more helpful

We had horrible experience with White Furniture.....we will never go there again

Surprised you had a bad experience at Whites. We have made several purchases there and were satisfied. Wish they had email but other then that everything went well. Bought from City Furniture because they had what we wanted and the price was right... service is a crap shoot with them. For patio furniture I would recommend Palm Casual. Great selection and the best prices. They make a lot their own items.

We also had a bad experience with whites. We purchased 2 electric leather lazy boy chairs, and purchased a 5 year warrantee. We were told it would cover everything. Now one of the chairs is turning colors. ( never been in the sun). They are now 2 years old and we have been told "too bad, live with it". We Will never shop there again.

My friend bought fairly "modern" furniture from Haverty's. She didn't like how the sofa and chair fit the room so they took it back. She didn't like the way the coffee table was put together so they fixed it. No problem.

There are several stores, but I think we went to the one in Orlando on Colonial Blvd? I'm sure you can google the address. If you go to that one ask for Clyde and tell him Janet recommended him. Or I'm sure any sales person will be as helpful. It's "company policy" that's most important. Welcome and good luck with your shopping.

Our preferences are toward contemporary & we bought a nice white leather couch & loveseat plus coffee, end tables & lamps at Rooms To Go in Ocala, believe it or not. This was a few years ago & it's all still in great shape.

If you are buying a lot of furniture, you might want to take a trip to Hickory NC about 50 Miles NW of Charlotte, NC {about 9 hrs from TV). At least use it for comparison prices from the net.

You are one of the lucky ones......White Furniture will never be on our list again, we have found several other vendors that care about their customers when there are problems.....and that, too me, is the true value of any store.

We also went to Kane's in Ocala a couple of year's ago and bought a lot of furniture. What's nice about Ocala is "Rooms to Go, Kane's and Blockers" are all within about 500' of each other.

Our last trip was about a year ago we wanted a power reclining love seat. We stopped at Rooms to Go first, they said they didn't carry power in love seats, just couches. So we left and we to Kanes and Blockers, they both had many powered love seats, Blockers was slightly higher in price. The one we bought at Kane's was $1100 and at Blockers a similar model was about $1400. We had also had a Kanes 10% coupon from the mail, so it came to $990.

As mentioned before, Kane's has the lifetime warranty and we found out they do honor it. After our loveseat was about a year old, the motor quit working. We called the store and they sent out a repairman. He replaced the transformer, which took about 5 minutes, and it works like new.

Kane's is a treat to walk through.

It's eye candy that's for sure.

Thanks too all for your suggestions. Went to six stores and hit the jack pot with Kane's modern/contemporary furniture. I went over the budget, and when Tom saw pictures he told me to get a job. Lol, just kidding, he gave his approval. A woman alone in a furniture store is dangerous.
