History Channel
Decoding the Past- Doomsday 2012-The End of Time.
Did anyone watch this? It was fascinating. |
Re: History Channel
Ohhhhh.....
I missed it , do you know if it will be repeated. |
Re: History Channel
Looks like it will be on again Sunday morning, April 13th...one place on their site says 9am, another says 10 am...so, check your listings to be sure!!! Sounds very interesting...thanks for the heads up, SamHass.
Here's an abstract from their website: There are prophecies and oracles from around the world that all seem to point to December 21, 2012 as doomsday. The ancient Mayan Calendar, the medieval predictions of Merlin, the Book of Revelation and the Chinese oracle of the I Ching all point to this specific date as the end of civilization. A new technology called "The Web-Bot Project" makes massive scans of the internet as a means of forecasting the future... and has turned up the same dreaded date: 2012. Skeptics point to a long history of "Failed Doomsdays", but many oracles of doom throughout history have a disturbingly accurate track record. As the year 2012 ticks ever closer we'll speculate if there are any reasons to believe these doomsayers. |
Re: History Channel
Sounds interesting!!
It will be on Sunday morning at 10 EST. I just Tivoed it in case I forget. Thanx Sam and V07 for the info... |
Re: History Channel
Yes, I watched it. I've heard of the 12/21/12 prophecy on many television programs, over the past few years. I think that would be a very good date for a very big party.

Re: History Channel

Re: History Channel
I missed it and won't be able to watch it Sunday either...sigh
Same with the John Adams mini-series... Drats to my travel schedule...it's on the plane traveling back home OR watching these 2 shows.... Wish I didn't need to work to build up my retirement or the choice would be a no-brainer! |

Thanks Sam, I'll Tivo it. That's when the Mayan calendar stops too. One of my hubby's receptionists is convinced that's the end of the world! [b]Let's party hearty!!!http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...runksmilef.gifhttp://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...iccupsmile.gif

Some probably do. on 08/08/08, probably not - too humid for the boss. Planning on an October visit if there are any planes still flying. |

Re: History Channel
I think the magic date is 12/21/2012. Speculation is that the planets will align on that day and the earth may shift. I think they said prior to another shift Alaska was on the equator.
I have to watch it again when I'm not falling asleep. My question would be ...should another shift occur, which way will the earth tilt? How will we be affected here? Do I keep the property in Pa hoping it will become tropical :joke:? Will Florida be a great spot to be? Is this going to ruin any parties set for that day? All kidding aside, it's a fascinating topic that I would like to explore from a scientific standpoint. |
Re: History Channel
:agree: I think it's an extremely fascinating subject. I'm going to research it more on the internet. But I don't want to scare the bejeebies out of myself! :yikes:
