It maybe old news but new for some.

Not only on the bridge, but numerous incidents of cars in the golf cart tunnels, too! There are way too many people here who should NOT be driving anything. I don't know if they're senile or just nut jobs.

I think while driving we ALL are a somewhat auto pilot.

When we go from cart to car, then car to cart, well auto pilot kicks in.

We will all be old one day and hope we all know the exact day and time to hang up our keys.

While it is not okay to drive on the path with a car, this is just a reminder we have to be so careful when we do drive.

I'll get off my soap box now.......

There are those that need to surrender their license to drive. Hard thing to do but when this stuff happens the state needs to step in and take it away.

They need to have those posts in the middle of every entry point of a cart path. If would at least let drivers know it wasn't for cars.

I have seen pick up trucks trying to use the tunnel near the Villages High School under CR466. Not very often though. Cars more often.

Autos/trucks on the golf cart paths are common event

That may be true that it is Older people, but I think the worst drivers here are contractors, AND the unitiated to the area and to roundabouts. I saw a NOT OLD woman trying to go in the out exit from the roundabout going into Lake Sumter Landing this week.

Another NOT ELDERLY driver crossed in front of us to exit in a roundabout. I don't think it is so much the OLD as the NEW.

Than there are those who come from the part of the country where stop signs AND speed limits are just a suggestion.

This has happened to me too. I don't have a golf cart. I bike and the bike is hitched to my pull cart. One time I didn't drive at all for couple of weeks. To get to Turtle Mound I bike up a couple of streets and turn on the Buena Vista cart path. I was running late for golf one morning and took the car and almost turned onto the golf path just out of habit. I drive a smart car and because it's so small maybe that plays into it. I'm not sure but I do understand how it could happen to anyone.

Haven't seen that one- but did see Hummer on
Lake Sumpter Landing Bridge 2 months ago

Hummer was heading north in the golf cart lane.

We were heading north on Morse Blvd Wednesday night about 6:30 and saw an SUV going clockwise around the roundabout at Odell Circle near Mallory. A lot of blowing of horns and flashing headlights. Could have been someone visiting from England or Bermuda.

Absolutely. The problem is that too often someone that shouldn't be driving causes a serious accident. There should be a mandatory road test every few years after let's say 65.

I wonder if the powers that be have the right to take away ones right to drive a golf cart.
