Michael Dunn, the Florida man who shot into a carful of teens, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibilty of parole.

Lives ruined because one man decided to carry a gun.

And yet there are Villagers who claim they carry a pistol wherever they go. It is legal - but is it smart?

I was thrilled at the verdict. He shot ten times into the car, didn't call 911, went back to his hotel and ordered a pizza. Hope he enjoys his homies in prison...forever.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Michael Dunn got just what he deserved and may he live a long and healthy life as a guest of the great state of Florida.

We lost one of our own residents last week when her husband shot her in the back in her bedroom before taking his own life.

Tom Rich (the suicide-murderer) probably would have used something else if a pistol was not available. Knife, bottle, rope, bat, large rock, poison, garbage bag, etc. There are many lethal weapons in any home in the Villages. They would be a lot harder to use than something that you just load, cock, point and pull the trigger though.

Michael Dunn richly deserves his sentence.

Regarding concealed carry ... it's only smart if you are going somewhere where you think you may encounter a threat, AND if you know how/when to use a weapon. I personally feel no need to carry concealed inside the TV bubble. Orlando or Jacksonville ... different story.
