Lung Cancer Surgery

Would appreciate any recommendations for lung surgeons or oncologists for lung cancer.

I am going to assume that this diagnosis has been made and they must have suggested someone to you. But, I can tell you that if this diagnosis was made to someone in my home I would run, not walk, to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. I may be wrong, but I don't think you could do better. You would go through their superb facility for a procedure and be able to have the required after care right here in TV. It's a pain because it is a two hour drive each way, but they have two hotels right on their campus that cater to their patients.

If you want information on Mayo please pm me.

I so agree with Madelaine's post. I ran to Mayo when I needed surgery and they came through for me. Please consider them, I did not need a referral.

Lung cancer

My husband was diagnost 6 years ago and doing fine now, thanks to Ocala Oncology and Dr, Reynolds along with Dr. Catalano of RIV (Radiological Institute of the Villages). Cancer free!

One of the best places is Moffitt Cancer Hospital in Tampa

I had stage 1 lung cancer 5 years ago. My upper left lobe was removed by Dr. Adrian Finol who is a thoracic surgeon. He was very caring and explained everything he did. I felt very comfortable with him. He is here in The Villages. Positive thoughts are going your way.....

Just an Alternative

Historically voted the best Cancer Hospital in the US is MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. I am sure there are a lot of great Dr's and Hospital. I think I would want at a minimum a teaching hospital and one that has a great reputation. Both
MD Anderson and Mayo both have these and may be good alternatives>?:)

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa is one of only 41 Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States as designated by The National Cancer Institute and the only one in Florida.
