Thermostat for Android
 

I just purchased a smart phone and I talked to Tom at VillageAV and he showed me that he can program his home thermostat from his phone. That kind of intrigued me. I went to Best Buy to buy a thermostat but found that they require a c wire which is a hot wire and allows the thermostat to be powered by the house instead of batteries. In any case I would still like to install one of these thermostats but don't have a "hot wire" as my present thermostat has batteries. In any case any suggestions on what I can do to get this thermostat installed by someone who can install the c wire?. I would think that it wouldn't be a major issue.

Take a picture of your current thermostat wiring and post it here. I can tell you exactly how it works and what needs to be done...

Are you sure it needs a/c or a12v dc feed? The 12v dc feed should already be provided from your hvac unit for your current thermostat.
