Golf cart lug nuts

I am unable to loosen lug nuts on my Yamaha cart with 1/2 drive...wondering
if someone might have a 3/4 drive set?

Liquid wrench works great.

The difference is the tightness on the nut - not the looseness of the tread.

Is looseness a word?

WoW! I have 18 inch 1/2 inch torque wrench and 18 inch breaker bar and if you want to bring the cart over (village of Pinellas) I will be glad to try. HOWEVER, be warned when lug nuts are on this tight, I have had them shear off. Sounds like these were way over tightened, IMHO. Drop me a PM and we can get together.

Another old trick is if you have a short length of pipe (maybe 2 to 2 1/2 ft.), you can put that over the ratchet handle for extra leverage.

I agree that if they were tightened too tight, the studs could snap off. Be careful.

I had to use a 3 foot cheater pipe on mine to break them loose. Recommend using a 6 point socket so as not to round off the hex on the bolts.

Yes, 6 point hardened sockets are necessary. I have split 12 point sockets.

Try heating the back side with a small propane torch. That usually does it by expanding the female threads.

Thank you everyone...I finally got them loose

A 3 foot piece of 1/2 inch black iron pipe makes a great breaker bar. I bought mine at Lowes.
