What is that noise?
 

Is anyone hearing that noise this morning near Collier? It sounds like gunshots or fireworks? It has been going on a good 45 minutes!

We were also trying to figure it out......

Nail guns? Any new construction in your area?

Doesn't sound like nail guns, as it isn't the usual pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. It more like pop, pop ..........pop, pop.
It started early though!!!!! :( Too early for a Saturday morning.

No construction nearby - and much louder than nail guns.... Started before sunrise....

Its a target practice run by the naval fliers. I wont write the word in full because Homeland Security might get me. It is a b*mb run.

Do you know where? We are in Hillsborough and it is loud and clear and has been since shortly after 6. I called the non-emergency Sumter Sheriff about 6:45 and they were going to send someone out. Wouldn't they know if it was military?

Florida duck season started this morning.

In the rain, contrails are noisy.

I'm going to suggest there are thousands of ducks or people with really bad aim. :-)

It's a 21 gun village salute but we only got one gun and we lost the count.
