New Golf Terms
Okay, I cleaned this up a lot, deleting some even I found offensive. However, there are still a couple that might offend the fine sensitivities of our more genteel audience. Be forewarned.
Golf has given us some unusual and colorful terms to describe shots such as 'shank', 'chili-dip', 'skull', 'duck-hook', 'worm-burner', etc. Here are come new ones to add to your vocabulary. A 'James Joyce' - a putt that's an impossible read. A 'Rock Hudson' – it looked straight, but wasn't. A 'Saddam Hussein' - from one bunker into another. A 'Yasser Arafat' – butt ugly and in the sand. A 'John Kennedy Jr'., - didn't make it over the water. A 'Rodney King' - over-clubbed. An 'O.J. Simpson' – got away with it. A 'Princess Grace' - should have used a driver. A 'Princess Di' - shouldn't have used a driver. A 'Rush Limbaugh' – a bit too far to the right. A 'Nancy Pelosi' - a bit too far to the left. A 'Barbra Streisand' - ugly but still working. A 'Teddy Kennedy' – goes in the water, but jumps out. |
Re: New Golf Terms
Barbra Streisand ugly? HUMPH!!!!
Good list, though. Some are perfectly demented, so fits my style perfectly. |

Re: New Golf Terms
Well, I've always liked her face. Found it fascinating and loved that she refused to change it to look like every other starlet. As to her looks in a bathing suit, I have no clue but have always thought her to be on the slender side so would be sorely surprised if she didn't have a pretty good figure in a suit all of her life, but, as I said, I really don't know. To me, she is beautiful (at least on the outside -- the inside is a bit too much of a control freak for my taste and from what I've heard).

Re: New Golf Terms
Red, you surely remember the line from the 60's (or your much older sister told you) about the woman who went to the beauty parlor and said to the stylist, "Make me look like Barbra Streisand." So the stylist carefully took her brush and broke her nose. Ouch. Very old and very gauche.

I do not golf so I have often found myself looking these up to see what people around here in TV are talking about. |
