Laptop - Which Is Better: Touch Screen or Non-Touch Screen

I'd like to get some opinions. Regarding laptops....which is better Touch Screen or Non-Touch Screen?

non-touch
I like sitting on a recliner with a laptop on my lap or table.
I like using a pad instead of a mouse.
In my opinion, although it may be one of the older form factors, it is still the best.
And keeping a touch screen clean must be a nuisance.

I also agree. I'm not a fan of the touch screen. I didn't spend the extra for it as I like my mouse.

Non-Touch Screen is much better for your posture. Sitting upright versus slouched over a computer...no thanks.

I have never tried a touch screen but I have bad shoulders and I wonder how holding my arm out to do the touching would affect me.

I will stick with my mouse and keyboard.

I have to assume it depends on how you are going to use it.

I have a non-touch laptop and an iPad. I love the touch screen unless I am typing. Personally, I would go for the touch screen so long as I could still use a keyboard and mouse as a backup. A touch screen is so convenient for so many things. I find my posture is actually better with the touch than laptop on lap.

I like the touch screen. You can still use your wireless mouse. Great when sitting on the recliner. My grandchildren are young 5 yrs and also navigate well on the touch screen.

I have an iPad and a macbook. Both have their place. Love to sit on sofa with my iPad, but at times my Mac Book fills the bill. Wouldn't give either up.

You can use a touch screen laptop exactly as you use non touch screen, with a keyboard and mouse. It just gives you more options.

I am sitting with my touch screen lap top in my rocking chair. There is definitely a learning curve, but once you adapt I don't think it can be beat!

I have a touch-screen laptop and several tablets. Of course touch is the only option on the tablets and everything works fine. i find i NEVER use the touch function of my laptop.

Want to quickly enlarge a photo on your screen?
Mouse won't do it.
Touch-screen does it instantly.

I have an Acer Chromebook with touch....love it! :pepper2:

My first choice for a laptop would be touch screen with a remote trackball option.
