Did your keyboard maybe come unplugged if it's not wireless that can happen? Are you getting a message about no keyboard?

a while back i had a similar issue, typing something and something else showing up....the computer would only do what it wanted and not what i wanted....... low and behold it was the battery......who'd of thunk it......the battery was about 3/4 years old....

put in new battery and works just like new...

Make sure the keyboard is plugged in and reboot.

Or just reboot.

Had something similar happen to one of our laptops, several keys stopped working, could not enter the password to log into the computer. Took it to MMD computer repair (441 near 466). They had the new keyboard in stock, and were able to replace it less then 15 minutes, cost was around $90. Very happy with the service.
Good luck

go to walmart and buy a usb external keyboard. plug it in and see if that works.

let me know if it works or doesn't work before going any further.

i helped a friend with the same problem. i fixed it by reinstalling the operating system.
