Kudos to Lady Lake Mayor
The property at 729 Sharon @ Shay had cut limbs and debris at the road for weeks. The tree at the corner made it impossible for a clear view to pull onto Shay. After talking to the Villages and listening to the excuses at to why they could not pick up the dead tree trimings at the road, I called the Lady Lake offices and made contact with the Commissioner Mayor, Ruth Kussard. Within hours Mayor had her staff at the property, trimming the tree and removing the dead limbs that had been there for weeks. All of this, in the rain yesterday.
Hats off to the Lady Lake staff, and Kudos to Ms. Kussard. Thank you. |
We had similar problem in LaZamora also
limbs and debris removed at end of cul-de-sac at end of Costa Mesa.. One call and DONE! Thank you Lady Lake Mayor:bigbow::bigbow:

Calling the jurisdiction with authority to remedy the situation gets results. Lady Lake was responsible to pick up the debris, not " The Villages" The Historic Side is not actually IN "The Villages". "The Villages" are ALL in CDD's. The Historic side is not IN a CDD. The Villages has no authority to pick up Tree trimmings Nor Trash etc. in Lady Lake. ( the trash and garbage in Lady Lake is contracted to Waste Management) There is NO Contract between The Villages and Lady Lake for these services. Lady Lake is responsible to pick up the tree trimmings and trim any trees that are creating visibility problems for " clear view" at intersections in Lady Lake. |

A brief correction to your statement…The historic side, which is all in The Villages, some in Lady Lake, and some in the enclaves which is Lake County. Also Waste Management has separate contracts, one with The Town of Lady Lake, outside the Villages, and another in The Villages, which picks up in the Lady Lake portion of the villages, also another with Lake County to pick up in the Enclaves. All tree tree trimmings will be picked up by WM too. |

We pay amenity fees and have all the same rights as residents in all of the other villages. We have community watch and are held to the same standards, with a few small exceptions as all of the other villages. There are in fact three separate villages in the historic district, Silver Lake, Country Club Hills and Orange Blossom Gardens. They are all CDDs albeit a different type of CDD because they are in Lake county and some in the town of Lady Lake. I can assure you that they are all in The Villages. |
