Last Village??

This mornings Daily Sun had an article on the front page about the new CDD 11, 3rd paragraph states "...CDD 11 the lasts and LAST addition...."

This will be interesting if this is actually true, and the Fruitland area (aka CDD 11) will be the last area developed.

Supply and demand may dictate an increase in the prices of the existing homes.

Yes. You are probably sitting in a gold mine.

I thought it was ON. Not in. Although I am sure I am too naïve to understand this at all.

Not what I expected, but a very good laugh.

It will be interesting to see if this is true and CDD 11 will be the last development.

On the other hand, 100,000+ homes is a nice size and should easily be sustainable for the local businesses, etc.

Is it a lie?

It is true today and today only.

I figure it is in the same category as

1) There will be no more custom built homes
2) There will be absolutely no more cottages
3) There will be no more patio villas.
4) And so...

Never say never.

cattywampus 12-08-2014 11:11 PM

....you mean that the truth may have been stretched in the past ?

like when we were told to our faces....
......".NOTHING will ever be built South of CR 466...
...there is just NO Land available."

What, the Soil Borings for pre build of Lake Sumter Landing
was already completed when that statement was made.

OMG....you are South of CR 466AA now.
...oh wait ,you are down to SR 44 now.

What, you are paying for an interchange to be built
at CR 468 + TURNPIKE.

What, Cr 468 ( probably to be renamed Morse) South of CR 44
will become a FOUR LANE all the WAY to Coleman, Fl.

More to follow.
I will be here all week and I got a million of 'em

Back a few years ago it was reported there would be no further Villages development in Lake and Marion County and now they are hard at work building in Fruitland Park in Lake County. As one drives east of Morse Blvd on CR 466 in Lake County and on CR 42 in Marion County adjacent to Buena Vista Blvd in The Villages there is still some large acreage of land just waiting for development. So never say never or expansion is over. When I moved here in 1997 build out was projected to be 30 thousand residents.

Gonna need quite a few more villages to reach 100,000+ homes.

I heard they are building down to Key Largo!

My gut tells me that Fruitland Park is not the end of Villages' construction.

Now that the original Morse is gone, the many mouths that are fed off the proceeds from the building of houses and other real estate and investments, etc., will not be enough to sustain the growing offspring of the heirs and the heirs themselves. With the elder Morse gone, unless they continue with more construction and other ventures, I visualize internal strife among the family, which would be a shame.

And the sky will be falling soon...............................

Lie? No. But business plans change as opportunity arises. The Villages does appear to be the proverbial "gold mine," and there appears to still be a wide seam of gold to be mined as the boomers are lining up to get into the place. Marketing a "build out" might keep prices high. Many of the members of the developer family work here, and seem to enjoy it. I'm sure those younger generations aren't tired of it all. It's hard for me to believe it will be finished, but keep watching. Looks to me like an awful lot of available pastureland to the south. Just sayin!
