Be vigilant when buying from Fresh Market!

Last week at Fresh Market, I bought some Surry Sausage. The sign in the display cooler said $6.99 a pound. When they weighed it, the sticker price was $8.99 per pound.
Today, I bought some sliced turkey breast from the deli. The sign in the display case said $6.49 a pound. When they rang it up, it was $6.99 a pound.
On both occasions, I caught the error and in each case, they had to find another item at the same price and use its sku. When I got to the checkout today, the lady said, "This isn't buffalo wings." I had to spend the next minute explaining what had happened.
I hate it when I have to do my job better than they do.

I too have had this problem but only with Fresh market. First time I bought fresh green beans for what I thought was $1.99 per pound. I thought my bill seemed high but I had bought other things so didn't check until I got home. They had charged me $11.99 per pound for "haricot verts" (green beans in French). I went back to the store and asked for a refund (took the beans with me). The cashier ridiculed the cashier who had rung my purchase up. The real joke was that SHE had been the one who rang me up.
Anyway, I decided a few months later to try them again. I had been told that Fresh Market had the best Italian sausage. At the store I asked for 2 lbs. at $2.99 per lb. I got home and realized the package was stamped "Pork Chops $4.99 per lb"). When I went back, I asked to see the manager. I told him my story and mentioned the first experience and he wanted to refund the entire amount I had paid for my order. I insisted that he not do that because I wasn't coming back.
Fast forward to the holiday season. We were out and near Fresh Market when I remembered that I needed tortilla chips for a dish that I was taking to a party the next day so we stopped at Fresh Market. I ran in and grabbed a bag of FM (Fresh Market) tortilla chips that were on an end cap near the registers. When I opened the bag the next day, there was a rancid smell from the bag. My husband broke a chip and we each took a bite. It WAS rancid and it took the remainder of the day to get the bad taste out of our mouths. The chips had a "use by" date of 3 months earlier. I returned them, got a refund and went home and sent an email to FM headquarters. I got a glowing email form them......."this is not how we do business, we strive to have the freshest food, the manager from the store will call you, blah blah, blah". No one ever called and I have never returned
I've learned my lesson but it's disturbing to hear that others are having the same problems from the same store. How many do not check their receipts who are over charged?
