A Christmas Story- The Movie
For those of you that are fans of the movie and maybe grew up in that time frame, here are some interesting facts:

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a leg lamp at Home Depot in TV. I gave it some serious thought but did not buy it. (sigh)

Over the years I have become a Jean Shepherd fan. Did you know that there is a "sequel" to "a Christmas Story " film? It's called :"It runs in the Family" and represents the following summer. I have also enjoyed Shepherd"s "Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss" and "The Phantom of the Open Hearth"
I do believe that Jean Shepherd is the voice of the dad in Disney's Carousel of Progress. |
I also was a Jean Shepherd fan long before the movie. I used to hear him tell his stories on the radio in NY. He was a contributing editor to Car and Driver magazine when I read that regularly. He had at least 2 PBS shows that were extremely entertaining. Loved his work.

The "Christmas Story" house on W.11th is now a museum. The interior has been crafted to look as it did in the movie.
