A couple of weeks ago, I saw a leg lamp at Home Depot in TV. I gave it some serious thought but did not buy it. (sigh)

Over the years I have become a Jean Shepherd fan. Did you know that there is a "sequel" to "a Christmas Story " film? It's called :"It runs in the Family" and represents the following summer. I have also enjoyed Shepherd"s "Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss" and "The Phantom of the Open Hearth"
I do believe that Jean Shepherd is the voice of the dad in Disney's Carousel of Progress.

I also was a Jean Shepherd fan long before the movie. I used to hear him tell his stories on the radio in NY. He was a contributing editor to Car and Driver magazine when I read that regularly. He had at least 2 PBS shows that were extremely entertaining. Loved his work.

Shep was on WOR in New York at 10pm nightly.

I saw him in person several times in the late 1960's.

The Christmas Story movie was based on a chapter of his book In God We
Trust - All Others Pay Cash. He would read the story on his program every year on Christmas Eve.

The "Christmas Story" house on W.11th is now a museum. The interior has been crafted to look as it did in the movie.
