I think the Saddlebrook cat is a bobcat. This photo is from Wikipedia:

I believe you are correct; however, I am so surprised by the short tail!

Maybe the "bob" in bobcat refers bobtail?

Yep, looks like a bobcat to me. What is the issue? Lots of birds, mice, and rabbits for them to lunch on around here. They won't bother you at all - but if you let Fluffy or Phydeaux out unattended, there could be a problem for you.

Actually I think it's kind of cool to have predators in our midst. Bobcats, foxes, raptors, and coyotes are human averse and lend an element of wildness to our domesticated landscape.

I may not be a very good golfer. But I make up for it in enjoyment I get from the wildlife I see on the courses. We are SO lucky to be here.

And bears and alligators, too.

True, but I left them out because sometimes we are on their kill list.

The online newspaper today said there was a mother bear and cub in a tree at the apartments on 466 and Rolling Acres Rd. I guess that would be on the SW corner across from the VFW. I had heard a few times that if you take Rolling Acres Rd. at night you would have a good chance of seeing a coyote, or at least their eyes in the night.

About two weeks ago, my brother called and said he just passed a bear cub that was in the median strip near the golf cart bridge on 27/441.

Saw a dark big cat on Pelican about a month ago. We thought it a panther but could have been a bobcat pretty good size fella It came from between two houses crosses the black tees on the second hole and fled at great speed into the oriental grass..Our group was pretty close to this big fella but he never even acknowledged our existence
