Does anyone else thank its odd that Comcast doesn't carry any PBS station?

I wonder why --any thoughts?

Since Comcast is a for profit company, I would assume it has to do with local viewership versus cost.

I get PBS on Comcast HD Channel 440.

I have Brighthouse HD and I have PBS on 1003 (WEDU), 1024 (WUCF), 1050 (WDSC), and 1068 (WEFS).

Usually 1003 and 1024 have the advertised PBS shows like Downton Abbey and Nature and Nova and the children's shows like Sesame Street and the Dinosaur Train. 1050 and 1068 have more adult shows like cooking, exercise, This Old House, sewing and crafting.

LOVE my PBS shows!

Is that on Long Island? WUFT, Orlando, HD440 comes through fine where I live in The Villages.

Their are several depending on your service package ..... but WUCF channel 4 or 440 on HD .... should be available to you.

We get the PBS on 440 or 4 also. What we miss is the British shows on PBS that Comcast had in Maryland. There were actually two PBS Britain channels.

BBC America is available on some packages we are trying to decide if it is worth moving up a package to get it. A lot of the BBC programs we use to get on PBS are no longer available on PBS as they are on BBC America.

I have been watching Downton Abbey every Sunday night on Comcast, Channel 4. I would not, could not be without PBS.

There's another PBS station on 381.

PBS is included in my Comcast lineup

Most major PBS shows you might have missed can be viewed online for free at PBS dot org. Nova had a very educational show on tonight on the science of sinkholes. I had posted a thread about it, but that thread seems to have gone down its own sinkhole! Not surprisingly, much of the show dealt with Florida.

Many thanks-- I had looked at the on-tv guide on Comcast and couldn't find it. I looked in the TV magazine that comes with the Sunday "Sun" and in the channel line-up it had a dash next to any PBS listing meaning none.
Thanks again:smiley:

Do you have the correct provider set up at tvguide.com? I use Comcast (The Villages) (Digital (Non-rebuild) and ch 4 and 440 have the double face logo that PBS uses.
