Gas cart engine life
I had a conversation with my brother about the life span of golf cart gas engines, assuming they are maintained. I was of the opinion that 4000 hours was achievable/typical. This would translate into perhaps 50k+ miles depending on how the cart was used. Anyone have any experience with high mileage gas carts? Thanks.

change the oil twice a year and with an annual maintenance service should last till your tired of looking at it Both my carts are 10 years old look and run like new

Do you have any idea how many hours and/or miles are on your carts after 10 years? Thanks so much.

I had villages golf cart install striker speedometers on both carts being a part timer drive around 2000 mile per year per cart |
My Yamaha Gas Cart will be 20 yrs old next March (2016).
I bought it 5 years ago and have it serviced once a year. Last year I was told by the service guy that the carburetor would probably have to be replaced in 2015. Think he said about $250. We are here about 8 months each year and probably drive about 2000 miles a year. |
Preventive maintenance $ are well spent

Is there some type of meter on the gas carts to show how many hours?

20K Still Strong
My six year old Yamaha has twenty thousand miles and the only repair was having the drive belt replaced, about $50. It still has the original spark plug. The oil is changed every two thousand miles. It runs great!
