Advice

I am looking to relocate to Florida - I lived in Southern Florida approx 18yrs ago - My parents live in the villages and I have visited them a couple of times and I like the Villages not too crazy about the cities outside of the villages but I guess that takes some time to get use to. My question is I have an 19yr old son and a 24yr old daughter - they will be moving with me. Any advice on areas either in the villages or surrounding areas that there are young families so my children feel comfortable and don't feel out of place. Any advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

The first thought that would come to mind is that your children are getting old enough to be out of the nest, either at school or in a job. Where do they look to work or go to school? That to me would be more important than your adult children being comfortable or out of place. All ages of people live in Florida.

Thank you - I will look in those areas.

The Villages just built a new family area off of 301.

Do you happen to know what its called?

Our 30 year old son stayed with us for about 6 months and hated it here. He always felt uncomfortable, because of the looks he got from all us "old folks". No one to really hang with. The guys he worked with were either married with kids, or the single and wanted to go out drinking, not his cup of tea. He did enjoy golfing with his Dad, but other than that he felt out of place, even at the pools.

Only positive note was when he gets to be our age, he'd like to come back here to live.

That's disappointing to hear - I thought younger families were beginning to move near the villages. I must have misunderstood.

Thank you for the link
