Robins

Thousands (well maybe) of robins have been swarming around Santo Domingo's berry bearing holly trees. In the mornings and about 3-4pm. We've had more than a dozen fighting for position in our bird bath. Fun Watching!

I always saw Robins in ones and twos up north. The first time I saw a swarm here I was surprised. One other thing, those ingested berries turn up again.

Saw them this morning but didn't know they were robins. I'm in Hacienda and there were
Hundreds.

If you see them flying a little goofy, it is from eating berries that have begun to ferment. I agree, seeing them in a flock is a bit awesome for a native Chicagoan.

Northern Spring can't be too far off, if they are moving already!

I thought just the other day it was about time for them to show up and strip my tree in about 4.876 seconds ...... and then leave a gift or two.
:sigh:

some friends of mine rented up that way a couple years ago...it was absolutely amazing! I have a cute little holly tree, but no robins! they remember the same feast places year after year.

This morning it looked like a scene from the movie "the Birds" robins all over my yard.there were at least 10 in my birdbath and about 20 in my yard. My cats were going crazy looking out the back window. Looked up and saw a lot in my holly bush. Thank goodness our cars are in the garage.

That is wonderful; one reason we chose to retire here is all the bird life. Thank them for enhancing the natural beauty of Florida by attracting live birds. Joe and Monika
