Need New Pest/Lawn Control
 

All About Bugs sold out to Chemlawn. I had All About Bugs for 7 years and liked them. Anyone have any input about Deans, Once a Year, Bates or any other service?

I've used Bay Area Pest for over 3 years and they are great, 245-4522, call them I'm sure they'd be happy to come out and talk to you. Many of my neighbors have switched to them and are very happy.

We are currently using Bates. Price was much lower than Massey. Seem to do an OK job and responded immediately when we had fire ants. We don't have any basis for comparison through. Would like to hear other comments on this topic.

I will call Bay Area Pest recommended by Golfnut for more information.

I have Dean's for pest and termite. I can not complain. The service is great. And we do not have any bugs or termites.

As for the lawn, we had to use Massey as Dean's sold there lawn service. So far, Massey
has worked with us. We shall soon see if the treatment works.

Been using Dean's for Pest and Termite Control and Scott's for Lawn Service. Been using both since 2003 and pleased with both.

Do not use Bates or Once a Year. You get what you pay for which is very little.

I've been using Bates for a year, I thought they did OK, but I don't have any basis for comparison. What problems did you have with them?

We used to have Superior, they were terrible.

Currently we take care of our landscaping. We use Dean's only for the termites.

A lot of our neighbors use Massey and are happy with them.

Bates has alot of internal management issues and high turnover of their techs. There have also been several law suits against Bates by local Villagers. About two years ago Bates was the second biggest lawn company in TV now they have only 20 percent of their peak customer base. I just hear many bad stories about Bates. Once a year has high turnover as well.

Do a google search on Bates and check with Seniors against crime about Bates. You will find the answers quickly.

Thanks, Greeners, for the input on Bates. Our contract is now due for renewal, so the timing to change companies is optimum.

I use Massy for termites and use Fertigator for the lawn and in the chemical they use for plants and lawns also contains chemicals for any bugs. I have no problem with bugs.

JimT had a major wasp problem and a minor issue with an occasional dead cockroach in his kitchen. He called Dean's to do a one-time shot at getting rid of anything. I was really impressed with the young man, Aaron, who did the job. Not only did he get the wasp nests that were within easy reach, he even borrowed a ladder and climbed on the roof to get the nests that were up there.

In the house, he removed every possible thing (the fridge, the stove) he could to find where they were coming from. He found the problem (there is a large gap between the wall and the tile under the stove), sprayed it thoroughly, sprayed, baited and left sticky traps in other places. As he said, when he does a job, he wants it done as if it was his home that had an issue. That kind of workmanship should be applauded.

So, I would recommend Dean's, at least if you can ask for Aaron.
