Fires in THe Villages
Moving to the Villages in April.
Is it legal to have an outdoor fireplace and burn wood ? What about a fire pit ? Bonfire ?. |
South of 466? First ask the architectural review board.
We have friends who have firepit's under the overhang on a home with a birdcage. |
The title gave me a start ... I was concerned we had fires burning in The Villages.

therefore it s/b the county ordinances. But since a barbecue is alright I guess it would be fine |
I hope the neighbors enjoy the smoke and ash landing on their lanai.:22yikes:

Try Community Standards (352)751-3912. They should be able to answer your question and if not direct to someone who can.

We have a propane fire pit. Works great in our side yard. We have a Court Yard Villa. We get about 15 hours out of a tank so it works out to about a buck and a half per hour.
|
Hot embers might be a concern if it has no screen.

If your planning on a wood burning fire pit or fireplace I'd suggest asking the Fire Dept. Stop by Stat. 44 on Moorse Blvd S/O 466a an ask them. Then also ask yourself how you'd like a neighbor 10' from your house burning wood and stinking up your house. JMO

The only thing that I found about firepits is that you have to make sure there isn't a no burn warning in your county. Usually occurs during the dry season. Of course, you should be considerate of any close neighbors. Or invite them over.

Please don't move to Bonita, I have lung issues that smoke just get's me going

I checked with The Villages Fire Department last year, they said there were no restrictions at that time. We wound up buying an LP version are very happy with it. The homes here are close and some of the residents have respiratory issues.
