Fear if Iran is NOT just in Washington and Israel
From Australia....

"With hopes fading that nuclear negotiations between Western powers and Iran will succeed, talk in Washington is beginning to turn to how dangerous their failure may be.

The worst possible outcomes are horrifying – either Iran becomes nuclear capable within months, or American air strikes destroy its facilities, leading to unpredictable and perhaps even unimaginable further violence.

"Sometimes you would think the war was between the Hill [or Congress] and the White House, with Iran as an afterthought," says Albright, who is seen as something of an honest broker by both sides.

The best outcome could be a nervous stasis in which Iran pauses its program as America's armed forces stand by, and diplomats go about the delicate work of reviving negotiations."

"Western negotiators led by the US long ago gave up on ending Iran's nuclear program. Instead they seek to keep Iran at what is referred to as 12 months from "breakout". That is, to ensure that it remains impossible for Iran to develop 25 kilograms of enriched uranium - or enough to build a weapon - for a period of a year."

Great powers unlikely to accept flawed nuclear deal with intransigent Iran

Interesting view....

"Israeli PM says while he can't guarantee his address to Congress will prevent world powers from signing a bad nuclear deal with Iran, it is his obligation to go make Israel's case.

Israeli-US public sparring over the Iranian issue continued Monday, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asking, if the emerging agreement with Tehran is a good one, why hide the details? Netanyahu’s comments at the annual meeting in Jerusalem of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations came the same day that The Washington Post’s David Ignatius reported that the US had decided to “reduce the exchange of sensitive information about the Iran talks,” because of a concern that Netanyahu’s office had leaked “sensitive details” of the US position."

"Just as Iran knows what agreement it is being offered, it is only natural that Israel should know as well, since it is the most threatened by a nuclear Iran, Netanyahu said; adding that Israel’s consistent position is that the proposed accords are a danger to Israel’s security.

“But if there is someone who thinks it is a good deal, why is there a need to hide it?” he asked."

"The U.N. nuclear agency reported deadlock Thursday in its probe of allegations that Iran worked on atomic arms — an assessment that further dims hopes that Tehran and six world powers could negotiate a full nuclear deal by their June deadline.

The U.S. and five other powers insist that Tehran must fully cooperate with the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency's probe for any nuclear agreement that grants Iran total sanctions relief.

"Iran has not provided any explanations" on the suspicions, according to a confidential report obtained by The Associated Press.

The agency also said that Iran is honoring commitments to put temporary restraints on its atomic activities as it negotiates on the long-term nuclear deal.

Iran agreed a year ago to work with the IAEA. But like previous probes, the investigation quickly stalled over Tehran's insistence that it never wanted or worked on such weapons and any evidence to the contrary is fabricated.
