Dentist within United Health Care HMO

I'm new to the TOV so pardon if I am not using this site properly yet. I am looking to select a dentist that participates with the United Health Care HMO. I joined that HMO because I love The Villages Health system and that's the only advantage plan they use. Their dental network is pretty thin. The Aspen Clinics no longer participate. I am thinking about Coast Dental in Ocala, or Wildwood Dental. Does anyone have experience with either of these practices? There's also a Dr. Fischer on Sumter Landing and Dr. Brignol.

I hear that the dentists down here often really push extra services.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

We are on the Villages health care plan, but use AARP Delta Dental for our dentists.

The Villages Health system and United Health Care are essentially one and the same, so you can't love one and not the other. When it comes to HMO dental networks they are all pretty much the same. They provide cheap "bait 'n' switch" service and the service is generally provided by dentists who are willing to cut their rates to the bone because they are desperate for business.

We see the dentist that's with Wildwood Family Dentistry. Been with them for a year and a half and have been satisfied. No bait or switch or over-selling (if that's what you call it). Had the check-up which seemed thorough along with the cleaning.

Did you call Dentistry on the Square in LSL?

I am with United HMO. Went earlier this month to Sumter Co Dental across from Barnes & Noble in Lake Sumter Landing. Saw dentist first visit as they "pushed" Florida law and saw hygenists the next day. Each trip cost me $0.00.

We use Sumter Landing Dental

Thanks, that helped. NEVER NEVER go to Aspen Dental.

Thanks everyone. We went to Wildwood Dental and had a good experience. No up-sell and they seemed up to date and competent.
