Darwin Award candidate

A Michigan woman accidentally shot herself to death last month while adjusting the .22-caliber revolver in her bra holster, police said Wednesday.

Christina Bond, 55, was struck in an eye in her St. Joseph home on New Year's Day. She died the next day in a Kalamazoo hospital, where she had been airlifted.

"She was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn't get it to fit the way she wanted it to," St. Joseph Public Safety Director Mark Clapp*told*theKalamazoo Gazette. "She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon."

Yep... you can't fix stupid.

Not a good topic for humor… a woman is dead. Say what you want about guns, but don't make this poor soul an object of mockery.

Thanks.

At least she hit what she was aiming at....good sight picture

To receive a Darwin Award you either have to be dead, or injure yourself where there will be no more offspring. And you have to achieve that by doing something really stupid.

Sad to say, but I'm afraid that would happen here in TV if any of the elderly that "carry", try to get their weapon out in a hurry. The way I've seen some drive, they DON'T need to be carrying a weapon.

Firearm handling accidents are not unique to Villages residents or any other group. Google: accidental / unintentional / negligent firearm discharges by law enforcement personnel, for some interesting examples. (These are the professionals.)
It was my understanding that the person submitting the "carry" license application was establishing the need and the appropriate government agency approved or disapproved it based on its merits. Apparently you disagree with the process and have already identified some who don't need to "carry". What's your process?

Ok, point out specifically where I said that I disagree with the process. The way I've seen some drive, they DON'T need to be carrying a weapon. People that have handled firearms all their lives can have that "uh-oh" moment; the older a person gets, the more their skills diminish in driving, handling meds, making rational decisions, handling loaded weapons, etc. I didn't disagree the process anywhere, I was part of the process.

ANYTHING you want to call YOURSELF is fine. You are one of us now.

I'll learn; however, my bride is only 54, the youngest one in the neighborhood; the neighbors let her know that right away. 😉

The high on Sunday, that day is said to be 81*
