12-21-2012 end of mayan calendar

I know many have heard the Mayan Calendar ends on this date. Also have heard about planet X called Nibiru is being studied with a massive satellite at the south pole, as it approaches our solar system from Orion. This is very frightening to me. Is the government not telling us things they know? Is there a massive underground cavern for officials, educators and scientists already in existence so mankind can survive? Is a massive polar shift going to flood the earth and cause worldwide destruction? Discovery channel had a program a couple of months ago that I mentioned to my daughter and she is studying and verifying many of these issues. What are my TOTV friends thoughts? Are all the prophecies of the past coming to fruition? Thats it..... I am retiring and spending every dime I have! lol

Chill Ronda...

What will be will be...

Nothing you or I can do about it...

I think it's hogwash but does it really matter?

Mc & Bright, I am relaxing and chilling because there isn't anything that can be done. It is just all the more reason to enjoy every day. The studies are finding more evidence of this planet and collision timeline. I hope it is hogwash. Heck I know they could be off by thousands of years, just was asking viewpoints from others. I modified my original post so I don't appear off my rocker.............Because I am rokinronda! lol

Don't mean to sound like 'Doubting Thomas,' but is this Mayan calendar 'do' akin to burying the statue of St. Joseph upside down?...

Now y'all have me scared :edit: less. I just checked my Citizens First Bank calendar and it ends on 12-31-2008. I think just to be safe, I'm going to go out front and bury it upside down. On the otherhand, I guess I can forget about scheduling that January power wash of the house and don't have to worry about the visiting relatives during snowbird season. It evens out, I guess.

Ronda, the nice (?) thing is there are always signs leading to the end of the world. Remmber the Nostradamus scare of a few years ago? WWII was that to be a cataclysmic event. The Cold War was used to prove a few psychic predictions (including Nostradamus). The ending of the Cold War a few others.

Yes, it is true that are some huge bunkers in DC and other places for those considered crucial to the survival of America. There were built in the 50s. Whether they are still maintained is another question. Knowing this government (not this administration but the government as a whole), I am sure they are being well taken care of. Who knows when someone might bring a nuclear weapon into this country.

If a planet hits us, hiding in a bunker won't help much. I believe the largest meteorite to hit earth was thought to be the size of a small mountain -- it caused a very large crater in South Africa. One that can actually be seen from space. If a planet collided with earth, it would more than like destroy both planets. So, hiding in a bunker would be useless.

While the government would probably be willing to keep things like impending doom by collision a secret, there are enough amateur astronomers to make it impossible. Someone would have posted something on the web by now. The news media would have happily done their best to scare everyone for the sake of ratings. Ditto the ending by Mayan calendar.

So, I'd chalk these things up to another way for a few to try to scare the many.

I try to stay well informed so forgive me for this stupid and serious question:What is it about the Mayans that would cause them to have more knowledge about the END than anyone else? Honest, I'm serious!!!!!

Re: 12-21-2012 end of mayan calendar

Some people follow the Mayan calendar much like others follow astrology or the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Supposedly, all can foretell the future as well as your birth sign and strengths and weaknesses. How much you believe or disbelieve is up to you.

One thing to remember, though, is that no one really knows the date the Mayan calendar began. So, 12-21-12 may have about the same meaning to the Mayan calendar as 06-19-08 does to Christians -- it will have relevance to some people because of births, deaths, anniversaries; for the majority it is a day of good, bad and indifferent.

OK
You are forcing me to tell a story that I have had nightmares about for years..
About twenty years ago when on vacation in Mexico , I was fascinated and purchased a silver necklace in a little remote shop in Las Hadas ....four years later on a return trip I was visiting a museum of ancient history and was looking at a large recovered Mayan disk calendar ....Imagine my shock when I realized it was identical to my necklace....However there was one small difference ...in the lower right hand corner was a small inscription written in Mayan ..I went to the curator of the museum and ask him if there was anyone there who could translate it for me.....He replied that his assistant could and accompanied me to the disk......After several minutes she look puzzled and stated that it said....
THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING , THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING.....

I haven't slept a night in nine years..............restless Fumar :verymad:

Noone knows the time when Jesus is coming back but he is, I'm hoping everyone is right with the Father, without preaching it's important to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, I have!

Thanks BUC, for your testimony...there's only one way the world will end, it's all in the Book, no secrets there. God Bless you all!
