Day Laborer / Popcorn Ceiling
 

Wife hates our popcorn ceilings. I am a major do it yourselfer, but on major jobs, I like to hire day laborers to help. In Baltimore, I new where to hire, but not here. Anyone know of any agencies or places that have day laborers.

Or as a back-up , has anyone had a good experience with hiring a local company to get rid of the popcorn. And what was the cost????

My understanding is that it is not cheap nor easy to do. I will check with the person that checked into it (if I can remember who it was) and get back to you.

I remember having popcorn ceilings in California about 25 years ago. I hated it. However, after checking to see what it would cost to get rid of it, I decided I LOVED popcorn ceilings. The cost to do the living room, family room and hallway (forget the bedrooms!) was $2,500.

I just had the popcorn ceilings removed and a knockdown finish to replace them in a 1612 sq.ft courtyard villa in lime grove...the people who did it wer FABULOUS! and Very reasnable...i'm amazed at what a great experience it was...the company is called Popcornceilings.com i normally don't give endorsments, but in this case i'm making an exeption....the next popcorn i see will be at the movie theater! doug b

discman....they charged $1300. including the beautiful knockdown finish...i only had minor cleanup...doug
