Belle Glade backwards....

went to their restaurant last night and was told a 45min wait...not bad except at least half the tables were empty...perhaps the reason was a lack of staff, but no reason was offered or given....

Listen up restaurant manager....when you are experiencing difficulties you should be informing the paying public why they are being inconvenienced... as patrons we have a right to decide whether to stay or go given the circumstances...we do not work for you and since 100% of your livelihood comes from us perhaps treating us as adults would be the common sense/appropriate approach...

Likely won't return till they get their act together...attitude counts for a lot...theirs was lousy.

Yawn

redwitch 03-02-2015 10:27 AM

Sorry, kids demand to know why. Adults decide if they want to wait 45 minutes or not and act accordingly.

It should have been obvious that they were short staffed somewhere. That happens sometimes, not a big deal.

Bogie Shooter 03-02-2015 12:31 PM

Tsk, tsk.

geez, I've been trying to withstand the temptation all morning...but simply can't.

isn't the answer to the OP simply 'edalG elleB'

ROCKETMAN 03-02-2015 12:39 PM

That happens at almost all the country clubs in the busy season. If you think of it if every table was full inside and out, the kitchen would fall behind and you would sit at your table forever. I would rather wait having a drink at the bar or stand around someplace with the padger. You cant compare country clubs to codys or gators dockside when full because making burgers chicken wings or wraps doesnt take very long as opposed to cooking a steak or grilling seafood.

redwitch got it right...what more does anyone have to know beyond the length of the wait time to make a decision to go or to stay? Would a reason why there is a 45 min wait make anyone change their mind?

This same thing happened to us a few weeks ago at Belle Glade. I asked about it. The host said because those tables were reserved for those who had called for reservations. We were finally seated and an hour later they finally seated diners at those tables just as we were leaving.

Reservations, calling ahead, what novel ideas! If you don't like the wait, leave.
