Why have the .223 Green Tip bullets available at all?

They are capable of going through Kevlar vests and helmets with ease. They are definitely not a target or hunting bullet.

The burglar or intruder coming in your house will not be wearing Kevlar body armor. Besides your AR-15 is not a great weapon for use inside the house - but that is a different matter.

I would think that current and former LEO's would not want this bullet available for anyone - except police and military - due to the very real possibility of use against law enforcement personnel.

Yes, there may be some who argue that this is the camels nose under the tent and someday all bullets will be banned. That just is circular reasoning and does not hold water.
