Too Old for Cinderella?!

I gave up my afternoon, and took my wife and Mother to see the new Disney Cinderella movie. I will reserve review for a different forum, but I was quite surprised by the reactions of some of the movie goers at one of our theaters.

We arrived early and there was already a long line forming. As other patrons entered the theater, a number of them asked what the long line was for, as if they were missing something special. However, when I informed them it was for Cinderella, they pooh-poohed it and said they wouldn't ever see that one. In fairness, my Mother gave me a similar reaction on my idea of going to this movie. My wife, the anti-Disney critic was expecting them to ruin another Disney Classic.

In the end, I will say those too old for Cinderella missed a good movie. Just ask my wife and Mother!

From previews, I got the impression that this was more of an adult version. Seemed like Ella had a bit more spunk. Not one of my favorite fairy tales, so doubt I will go see it but I'm definitely not too old for it.

I saw it yesterday and thought it was stunning! It is definitely for princesses (and princes) of all ages.

I will probably wait for the DVD. No convenient nieces and nephews around anymore who would allow me to sneak in using babysitting them as an excuse. I got into a lot of movies like that 15 years ago.

The review was very good and is worth seeing but it's something I would take my grandchild to see.

I believe is in staying "young at heart".

Perhaps now a studio will soon update "Cinderfella", the 1960 Jerry Lewis classic as well.

Don't Wait for the Grandkids Excuse

My anti-Disney critic (wife) has shared with her best friend, that Cinderella is now one of her all-time favorite movies, and must be seen on the big screen!! She was not alone. Number 1 in U.S. and worldwide, with more than the rest of the top 10 combined. If you are not seeing it because of the title name, you are missing a very good movie.

Maybe I should borrow a grandkid?

I went to see Cinders, today, and I thought it was lovely with spectacular costumes and special effects. I was surprised to see a good number of men in the audience. Those of us Downton Abbey fans, of course know Cinders was played by "Lady Rose", but no one had told me "Daisy" appears as one of the not so ugly, sisters. Go and enjoy, we are never to old to enjoy a movie experience.

Going with my wife, grandsons(ages 3 and 5) and two granddaughters(ages 7 and 9).
You're never too old to watch Cinderella!

When I turned 40 and was feeling a little (ok, a lot) blue about it, my hubby took me to the movies...a Disney marathon. We watched Cinderella and Snow White. It cheered me up and I still remember it as one of my best birthdays.

Loved the movie

If you want to see Cindarella, just go. You don't need to drag a kid. We are all grown-up and can do as we please. Do you really care what the ticket taker thinks?
