Best Country Club Course for to show off TV to a friend?
I have a friend coming in next week to play golf and take a quick visit. What would be the best course to show off The Villages? Palmer? We would like to play around 1pm. Do I need a visitor pass for him to play the Championship courses?
Thanks |
We've taken friends to Belle Glade CC and they loved it. Make a stop along the way at Eisenhower Rec Center.

Yes, you need to get him a visitor's pass. Personally I really like Havanna, Evans Prairie and Hacienda Zhills.

Palmer Riley Grove 9 is the best course in the Villages

They are all great...this time of year the greens are losing the winter rye and the bermuda is starting to take hold so some greens at some courses may seem spotty, but if mown and rolled will putt quite well.
I second Riley Grove, but it isn't the best IMO...I can't decide on the best, but the Palmer bar/restaurant is tops and I like bar/restaurant at Mallory too...so I base it not on the course(conditions being similar), but on the view from the outside eating area or the bar... |
I would recommend Hacendia Hills cc. Its a great combo of lush, green with tree lined and wide open rolling hills. Its my favorite. And for the record you do not need a visitors pass to play, all championship courses are open to the public. Visitors with pass do pay a bit less, but its not required.

Palmer seems to be the signature course for lifestyle visits. Very well kept and centrally located.

Thanks. I think I will try Palmer 1st.

My top Five
Belle Glade Palmer Evans Prarie Havana Malory |
If you are showing to impress...........you should look at them first. Everyone's taste is different and you may know what your friend likes.

Check with the golf department but I am pretty sure one needs a guest/visitor pass to play any course here, including the country clubs. They are not open to the general public.

One thing to keep in mind is skill level. Palmer courses are all great but can play tough..
I have found the Bonifay courses to be the most forgiving. |
