"Grey Pipes" in manufactured homes...
While viewing the resales available on the historic side, I noticed that more than one states that the "grey pipes" have been replaced. Would someone knowledgeable on this subject tell me the significance of this? Thank you.

Re: "Grey Pipes" in manufactured homes...
Most of the older mfg. homes used grey pipe. It is grey in color and breaks down in time causing leaks. Here is a good link: http://www.bobvila.com/BBS/grey_pipe...Home-1-F7.html

Thanks a bunch, Rokinronda, for that information and link. It explains it very well. I wasn't sure if it was a maintenance issue OR a SAFETY issue. Really appreciate it... thanks, again.

Re: "Grey Pipes" in manufactured homes...
I would suggest you stay as far away from this pipe as possible. It was a cheap plumbing alternitive in the 80's-90's http://www.pbpipe.com/
I live in a community that many buildings have this pipe and halfway through construction the pipe was stopped being used. many homes still have it and the pipe fails and of course water leaks happen. |

mworthinton,
Thanks for taking the time to give me that information... it's appreciated. Surely something to check out prior to a purchase. |
