LndLocked's suggestion above is probably your best option for trying to make sure your appraisals are legitimate.

If I may, I would like to offer a couple of suggestions that maybe could get you started with some idea of what you might have.

Although I have not been to Mt. Dora recently, I think the town is known for antiques shops. Might be worth a Google and a daytrip to have a look around.

Also, I think I remember seeing that the Lady Lake Public Library has held an event with an antiques appraiser. While I cannot offer you any more than an "I think I remember" on this one, you could call and talk to the branch librarian and ask. The library is in Lady Lake not far outside TV. The reason this is on my mind is because I remember wanting to go and missed it. Seems like it was sometime last year. The librarian will know or will find out for you who the appraiser was.

The value of antique furniture, unless Antiques Roadshow type, seems to vary by region of the country.

Also, keep in mind if you are looking for appraisals for insurance purposes, you will pay for these, in some cases several percent of the appraised value, or a fixed minimum cost. If you are 'just curious', try a search on eBay or Google for the item you are interested, this will give you a range of values. I would NOT use Craigslist, as the values are always quite low, especially the wanted area, and the for sale seem to be overly optimistic.
