Shout Out for Villages Ear/Hearing Aids in Brownwood

Just had to give big KUDO's to Kirk Malone, owner and provider, at The Villages Ear in Brownwood/Grand Traverse Plaza (by the new Publix)

We had both worn hearing aids that we had purchased from Costco and for years, had struggled to hear properly. Very frustrating! My husband, being loyal to a fault to Costco, was not 'open' to checking out other audiologists, but after seeing The Villages Ear open up, close to our home, I wanted to see if there was something that could be done.

Kirk Malone was SO helpful! He found me hearing aids that are so much more compatible to my hearing loss and how amazing that I can stream my cell phone and TV sound through a very small transmitter that I clip on my shirt.

After my husband noticed how happy I was with my new hearing aids, he went into see Kirk and was also thrilled! His new hearing aids are amazing and now, we are actually able to watch TV together and hear each other, without repeating everything. Wonderful!!

If anyone needs any help with hearing loss, Kirk is the Man! The Villages Ear in Brownwood: 352-259-8976

Tell him Jan & Tom said HELLO!

Are you sure the person who helped you is an audiologist? Many of the hearing aid stores are staffed by Hearing Aid Specialists.
An audiologist is a doctor of audiology, AuD.

I would love to know what type of hearing aids you bought and what types are offered there. My husband has Siemans and is very happy with our provider here in Virginia, but we will be needing to find someone in TV, and Brownwood is right around the corner.

Hi Wanda,
I contacted The Villlages Ear re: your question. They shared with me that they are a private practice and have accounts with every hearing aid manufacturer.

They can fit and service every manufacturer of hearing aids.

You will love them!

How much did they cost?

Thanks so much for that info! I just told my husband and he is thrilled. It is very important to him to find someone who does a good job at hearing aids. Well, it is important to me too, but for different reasons.

HearUSA in Brownwood has a excellent Audiologist. Her name is Dr. Dozier. My wife and I have been to several hearing clinics where most are not doctors. She provides an excellent hearing exam, and is honest. You will not be sorry.

Good point Beetle. An audiologist is a doctor of audiology. A hearing aid dispenser in Florida needs a high school diploma or equivalent. When it comes to my hearing I want the best.

PLEASE do yourself a giant favor and go see Kirk Malone at The Villages Ear next to the new Publix in Brownwood. The hearing test is free and this guy really knows his stuff. After fitting several thousand folks with hearing aids, he really "GETS It".

While you can never truly duplicate natural hearing, my new hearing aids come pretty darn close. They are so comfortable that I actually forget that I am wearing them!

My prior hearing aids made my ears itch and my own voice sounded like I was talking in a barrel.

I am SO GRATEFUL that I found Kirk Malone at The Villages Ear. You will be too!
