Why is there a limit on PMs one can send or receive within a certain time period?

well, my guess is that your special, samhass, but I don't really know.
Some boards do put limits on various options, just cuz it's there.

It probably is a system setting....purpose for it is to prevent spamming...i.e. one member sending out too many PMs in a short period of time. I ran into this with Yahoo one time when trying to send numerous emails out to HS classmates for reunion announcements.

Now, Sam would never be Spam, I am.

It also prevents you accidently sending the same message again by a double click. What I want to know is why can we only send to 3 people at one time. A royal pain when you're trying to organize something.

I never even knew that there was a limit to the number of PMs one can send. I guess I don't send that many. What's the limit?
