Need Hospital and Dr
 

I am moving to the Villages next week from up North and need an urgent care center that can remove stitches from my foot. I also need a primary Dr. Can anyone recommend anything ? They must accept Medicare insurance.
I also have supplemental insurance.

There are lots of urgent care facilities that you can visit to remove the stitches. And they do take Medicare.

As for your primary care, we had a 3 month plus wait. If you have a continuing care condition, get notes/records from your current doctor, and call around and beg for an appointment. Villages health has a policy(?) to schedule an initial review with a nurse, which is then followed up by your first visit, this is what took us 3 months, but we did not press the issue.

There are many doctors recommended on previous threads here on this board. There is an excellent care center which is run by TV hospital, along with many others, and there are recommendations for those on other threads.

I have a doctor who has a private practice outside TV healthcare and I know of many more who run their own practices and you will not have to wait long for an appointment, but come with all the medical background you have to save time.

This is a stressful time for you, but try to relax, everything will work out just fine.
