Town & Country Carts Closed in SS
Surprised this week to find the Town & Country golf cart store in Spanish Springs closed. For years, we made our monthly ride to their location to have the battery water levels and tire pressure checked. They gave no advance notice to customers. Our EZGO cart is still under warranty. What to do?

Business is absolutely closed. Our neighbor who has used his dealership since he bought his cart there years ago caught the owner as he was vacating. Story is that the rent was increasing by a way unaffordable amount so he pulled up stakes. Said he has another location in Ocala.

There is an EZGO dealer by the Streetrod store. They should honor warranties??? Dad caught them the day they were moving going for his monthly water check. They gave him a water container. He was also told the rents were raised too high for him. Such a shame.

Hard to see how a place stays in business if the majority only use them to check water levels and tire pressure. Like restaurants where people go in and order coffee and are there 2+ hours.
Forgive me for asking this, but can people not do simple preventative maintenance like check water levels, tire pressure, check bolts and screws and wash your carts anymore? |
Town and Country has/was here from the beginning. It was like a mom and pop business. They did this service for their long time customers, who in many instances bought their replacement carts from them.
Since you are new to TV for you to imply that this was the reason they now have closed, makes no sense since you are just guessing. There is more to this story than what has been posted on this thread. And the rest of the story does not need to be posted. Just let it go and no more little pot shots! |

It's a retirement community. Many people choose not to fuss with their golf carts. Some people aren't technically inclined or able bodied enough to check bolts and screws. For some people it might be more of a social visit. The business obviously benefited from offering "good-will" services by receiving return business. when it came time to purchase. I highly doubt it's the reason the business closed. |

Rest in Peace BJ
Sad to hear. Yes they did service our cart on occasion and when we upgraded they had the business. BJ the mechanic was an extremely generous man who always went out of his way to help as well as being a top notch mechanic. Unfortunately he recently passed away far too young and is missed by all who knew him. The last time I saw him he was feeding the birds outside the shop. May he rest in peace.
It's interesting to me that someone would put a negative spin on first class customer care as though good will was the kiss of death. |

Dad is 82 and when here loves to take Mom for a ride in his EZGO. Once a month they would visit the store for water only check and a good talk and laugh. He enjoyed the service they gave, but most of all he enjoyed the visit.
