Villages Area Fund Drives by Dubious Charities
 

A number of charities of dubious character, but with impressive-sounding names, send out mailings to Villagers announcing "Villages Area Fund Drives". The latest of these mailings is from an organization called the National Foundation for Cancer Research. In checking with Charitynavigator.org, I see that less than 1/2 of that charity's revenue goes to programs, with the majority of revenue being used for administrative expenses (organizers' salaries, etc.) and fundraising expenses.

Always research before donating as quite a few so called charities have a primary purpose of supplying their organizers with a hefty income before all else.
