Golf Cart Tickets and driver license

Do tickets while driving a golf cart can go in your driving license?
Technically you do not need a driver license to drive a golf cart.

I'm gonna go with a yes since a golf cart is a motorized vehicle being operated on a public street subject to traffic laws.

Yes they do.

Very interesting question. I have assumed the answer is yes, but really don't know. I'll wait to hear from someone with expertise in the area. Thank you for raising this issue.

yes they do. Points on your insurance as well.

But it's legal to drive a golf cart at 14 so how does that work?

I believe the info is transmitted to the state of residence and when the person reaches the age to apply for and get a driver's license, the points are applied.

Are we making the assumptin the carts are being driven on the street or street legal carts? If someone is driving a golf cart on the multi-purpose trails how can they be ticketed? What is the person is 80 and has given up thier drivers license? I am not claiming to know the answer, I just don't think it is a clear cut as some of the other replies imply...

All MMP's lead to a residence area which puts carts on public streets. I also believe they can stop carts on MMP's if they suspect DUI's or open containers but not sure about that one.

I think people are making up a lot of answers on here and really don't know the correct answer. I don't even know if you're required to have your drivers license or any form of ID when you're driving golf cart.

The following is the best information I found. The last paragraph probably address's the OP's question best...

Not to open another can of worms, but I find it interesting in section 8.b.3 that it states "3. The ordinance restricts golf carts to a maximum speed of 15 miles per hour and permits such use on sidewalks adjacent to state highways only if the sidewalks are at least 8 feet wide;". I always thought the max speed on the MMPs was 19 mph. Is this a Villages thing?

I've gotten a lot of conflicting answers from law enforcement on this and other traffic laws. It appears that the state has some conflicting laws and that LE often makes up their own rules and are sometimes upheld by judges.
