Long-term Parking at Orlando Int'l Airport?

First of all, thank you to all of the respondants and their recommendations. It gave me peace of mind that parking at the Orlando Int'l Airport was safe, and other like-minded people used that option. Whereas, some of the recommendations were less expensive or closer to the terminal, I found one that was easy to find, close to the airport and provided my car with cover, all for $5.00/day. WallyPark has a summer promotion for valet-covered parking for $5.00/day. They provided new transport buses to/from the terminal, the drivers loaded/unloaded my bags, and when I arrived at the airport, I called for pickup and gave them my ticket number, the shuttle was there immediately. When we arrived at their parking lot, my car was waiting for me at the shuttle dropoff point. The car had only been driven 0.2 miles, too! I will use them again!

I'm flying to WI on Thursday to pick up my father-in-law and returning on Sunday with him.

Rather than getting a $40 tour (on the way there) and an $80 tour (on the way back) of The Villages via the shuttle airport van (disadvantage of living on the north side of The Villages), I thought I'd try long-term parking at the Orlando Int'l Airport.

Does anyone have any recommendations and experience with the various parking options at the airport?

Thank you in advance.

I always use Xpress, Xpress Airport Valet Parking

Reserve on-line then print out a copy to insure you pay the correct amount. Clean, quick and very close to the airport. Never had a problem.

It's $35 each way for the Villages Shuttle. It's non-stop from Sumter Landing. Saves, gas, tolls and wear and tear.
The Airport North (or even South) Long term parking is $10 a and includes taxes.

Cheapparking.org will give you a lot of different options. We usually use the Marriott and if we have an early morning flight if you get a room at The Courtyard Marriott they let you park for free up to 2 weeks.

I agree. $3.99 per day is a bargain.

If less than a week, I use the garage parking at the airport. Covered, walk right into the terminal. Yeah, it is cheaper elsewhere. Convenience and reduced wear and tear on me is worth the extra cost.

Google cheap airport parking - I have used Marriott a few times with good results, Just used Reinassiance with great results, just got back last night.
You must use the cheap airport site or similar, not the hotel site for the hotel they will allow you to park at if you want best price.

We use the " Parking Spot". Park your car and they take you to airport and back. Very timely also.

For anything up to a month or so, I use Xpress.

I tried the airport van recently and was not that happy with it. Sat there at the airport for a long time waiting for a passenger who never showed up and then sat in a noisy, bumpy van with music that I wasn't particularly fond of playing on the radio. Then had to get a ride through TV while others were dropped off. I'd much rather get in my own car and drive in comfort.

Might want to try Villages Transportation rather that the Airport Van.....seems to provide a better service from the posts on here plus our own experience. But, too each their own.

is XPRESS a park and lock location or do ou have to give them the key?

OMG!!!!Amazed that nobody recommended the BEST place I have been using for over a decade....Fast Park.....$7.18 per day...Their shuttle follows you to where you have parked your car (a gated, secured lot), loads your luggage onto their shuttle. They provide an Orlando Sentinel newspaper on the way in and bottled water on the way out.....great Customer Service just off of Tradeport Drive and SO CONVENIENT.....To park for 10 days is less than a round trip shuttle (not including a tip)..and no problem if your flight delays. They do curbside drop off on departure and once your flight arrives, you claim your baggage and head to ground transportation.....we have never waited more than 10 minutes from call for pickup....

You give them your keys ... never had a problem with this and in fact it's one less thing to worry about losing while on the trip.

It does appear to be more comfortable, but don't they only run once per hour? Also, they don't have door-to-door service unless you pay extra for a taxi pick-up as I recall.

For short to moderate to semi-long trips, the cheapest, and for me, the most convenient solution, is to drive yourself and park in one of the off-airport lots. But, as you say, to each their own. I'm glad there are those who prefer to take the shuttles since it provides a good option in some cases - like when we were able to put our son-in-law on one to get to the airport, thus saving a roundtrip for us.
