Pool/spa pump repair
I have a 220V motor that I need tested and likely repaired.
Anyone know a shop? |
IMHO, it would probably be cheaper to buy a replacement motor, unless, this is a capacitor start type motor, and the capacitor, or transfer contacts are shot. I am relatively new to the area, so I cannot offer advice on a motor repair shop. We bought our spa from Spa Kingdom (on 441, just south of 466a), and I would go there first. If you can remove the motor, they may be able to test, call them first, as I am guessing...

I already pulled the pump, I've had pumps like this rebuilt back in NY it wasn't that expensive, so I would like to find a shop that can test/rebuild them Spa Kingdom isn't that type of shop I think.
But thanks |
There are two that I know about. One is in Taveras and I think the name is Taveras Electric Motor repair. I have never used them.
The other is Island Pump and Electric Motor Repair on Merritt Island which is over by Cape Kennedy. I did have them rebuild a pool pump for me. At the time I was traveling over there for work every couple weeks so it was not out of the way. They do specialize in pool pump motors. It was about 4 years ago and if I recall, the cost was $150? Might want to call and talk to both. |
yes, thanks I'll give them a call a new motor is over $500:ohdear:

Try Frank at Sta-Rite carts in Fruitland park. I believe they also do pumps and motors.
