Festivities Kentucky Derby & Mayweather Fight

are there any places locally that are showing the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight next Saturday, May 2nd? Also, any of our local Bars having any special parties for the Kentucky Derby? Having some out-of-towners visiting.

Interesting, one can only hope. If there was I would think it would be well advertised.

When we lived in Louisville, the entire day of racing was shown on one of the local channels except for the Derby when one of the national networks took over. People would have Derby parties where they provided food and drink and booked bets on all the races. They would make enough money from the betting to cover the food and drinks and make a profit on top of that.
TRIVIA QUESTION: The Derby is the most attended horse race in the country; what is the second most attended race?

Can't speak to local Derby activities, but for PPV events, its usually only the bigger chain sports bar places that put them due to cost. For you or I to order the fight is only like $59.99 or something. But after asking a few local bars about it one time a few years back, they said the commercial cost is several grand - sometimes as high as $5000-6000. So only high volume places can usually afford that high a price tag. Around here, its usually only a place like Buffalo Wild Wings that carries PPV.

City Fire always has a great Derby party !!

I was watching The Oaks today they said Oaks was third, ahead of the Belmont. Preakness was second I was at the Oaks last year, along with 113700+ people. The Derby had lots more. It was crowded but wonderful and I had lots of juleps. Crazy I will be having my own party here with my friends as I do every year (except last year, of course). City Fire usually has a party for every occasion. I don't anything about the fights, but if anyone is going to spring for that kind of money it should have been advertised heavily as the previous poster mentioned.

I was going to have a several guys over to watch the fight and split the cost. But the estimated time for the main event is around 11:30 PM. There are two preliminary fights that start at 9:00 PM.

I told them about the time and most said that they aren't awake at that time and I told them I did not need them for a sleep over. Event was canceled at my house.

Welcome to The Villages

I will fight both of those pip squeeks at the same time on stage in Sumter Landing, and give you a good show, for less than a hundred million!
