Bathroom Fans
The bathroom fans recessed into the light fixture are loud and weak. Has anyone had theirs replaced?
|
I was an electrical contractor in my former life. In feral builder line fan are junk. If you're going with anew replacement insist on a Nutone QT series, if you want to go first class have a remote central exhaust fan for all bathrooms controlled by a timer switch@ each bathroom--the timer switch should be a 30 minute spring would -to help remove moisture & mold.

It is such an odd concept to me.

timers for bath fans

Timers for your fans in the bathrooms are a good idea. We have the digital timers similar to these at Home Depot Woods 5-10-15-30 Minute Digital Countdown Timer - White-59007 - The Home Depot $14.99 -- easy to install. |
I just finished replacing ours. I went with Broan XB80L and leviton timers. Didn't have to crawl around the attic as they install from below. Getting the old ones out was a chore. DYI guys...you'll need basic electrical now-how and be able to spend an hour on a ladder. Came out great. Quiet 80 cfm on timers. YMMV.

Do you know anyone in The Villages who installs Nutone?
|
Any electrical contractor should be able to install a Nutone--remember to spec the QT series, minimum 110 cfm
